How to Live, With Confidence That God Is on Your Side
Romans 8:31
“If God is for us, who can be against us?”
How to Live, With Confidence That God Is on Your Side
1. Be Grounded in God’s Unchanging Love
Romans 8:38–39
“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.“
Confidence begins with knowing you are deeply loved.
2. Know who You are in Christ
2 Corinthians 5:17
“Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun”!
Ephesians 1:3–6
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. 4Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. 5God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. 6So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.
When you know who you are in Christ, intimidation loses its power.
3. Stand on God’s Promises
2 Corinthians 1:20
“All of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding ‘Yes!”
And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.
Confidence grows when faith rests on God’s Word rather than feelings.
Speak God’s promises aloud in moments of fear or doubt.
4. Walk in Obedience and Righteousness
1 John 3:21–22 John the Apostle says
“Dear friends, if we don’t feel guilty, we can come to God with bold confidence. And we will receive from him whatever we ask because we obey him and do the things that please him”.
A clear conscience produces spiritual boldness. Obedience aligns us with God’s protection and favor.
5. Rely on the Holy Spirit’s Presence
Romans 8:15
“You have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children.”
2 Timothy 1:7
For God will never give you the spirit of fear, but the Holy Spirit who gives you mighty power, love, and self-control.
Invite the Holy Spirit to fill and guide you daily.
6. Remember God’s Faithfulness in the Past
The Psalmist in Psalm 77:11–12 says,
“But then I recall all you have done, O Lord;
I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago.
They are constantly in my thoughts.
I cannot stop thinking about your mighty works.
Praise the Lord!”
Past victories are reminders that God will act again.
Rehearse testimonies of God’s faithfulness when fear arises.
7. Pray Boldly and Persistently.
1 John 5:14–15
“And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. 15And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.”
Bold prayer reflects confidence in God’s willingness to respond.
Approach God with assurance, not hesitation.
8. Keep an Eternal Perspective
2 Corinthians 4:17 NLT
“For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever.”
Confidence is sustained when eternity outweighs temporary challenges.
Key Declaration
“God is for me, with me, and working through me. I walk in faith, not fear, because the Lord is on my side.”
Closing Prayer
Father, thank You that You are for me and not against me. Help me live with bold faith, unwavering confidence, and trust in Your promises. Strengthen my heart to walk fearlessly, knowing You are always with me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
