6 Powerful Reasons A Christian Cannot Marry More Than One Wife

Ephesians 5:31-32

“A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.” 32This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one”.

Let us pray: Heavenly Father, the entrance of your word gives light. Thank you for the opportunity to learn at your feet in Jesus Name. Amen

Marriage is the beautiful design of the Almighty, a great mystery of Christ and his church.

“A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.”

It is an illustration of the way Christ and the Church are one

Praise the Lord!

Hallelujah, Amen

6 Powerful Reasons A Christian Cannot Marry More Than One Wife?

 1. Let No Man Split Apart What God has Joined Together

Genesis 2:18

Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”

21So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep. While the man slept, the Lord God took out one of the man’s ribs and closed up the opening. 22Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib, and he brought her to the man.

23“At last!” the man exclaimed.

“This one is bone from my bone,

and flesh from my flesh!

She will be called ‘woman,’

because she was taken from ‘man.’”

24This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.

Mattew 19:6

Since they are no longer two but one, let no man split apart what God has joined together.”

It is not the devil that splits a marriage, but man

Stop accusing the devil.

2. Sex Is Reserved for Your Wife Alone

Proverbs 5:15 23

“My son, share your love with your wife alone.

Drink from her well of pleasure and from no other.

16Why would you have sex with a stranger

or with anyone other than her?

17Reserve this pleasure for you and her alone and do not share it with another.

18Your sex life will be blessed

as you take joy and pleasure in the wife of your youth.

19Let her breasts be your satisfaction,

and let her embrace intoxicate you at all times.

Be continually delighted and ravished with her love!

20My son, why would you be exhilarated by an adulteress—

by embracing a woman who is not yours?

21For God sees everything you do, and his eyes are wide open

As he observes every single habit you have.

22Beware that your sins don’t overtake you

and that the scars of your own conscience don’t

become the ropes that tie you up.

23Those who choose wickedness die for lack of self-control,

for their foolish ways lead them astray,

carrying them away as hostages—

kidnapped captives robbed of destiny.

3. All True Christians Are Priests!

1Peter 2:8-9

They stumble because they do not obey God’s word, and so they meet the fate that was planned for them.

9But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession.

As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

Revelation 1:5-6 NLT

All glory to him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by shedding his blood for us. 6He has made us a Kingdom of priests for God his Father

You were made a priest to show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. Marriage is an illustration of the way Christ and the Church are one!

4. Priests Are Not Allowed, Don’t Be Robbed of Your Destiny

Malachai 2:1

“Listen, you priests—this command is for you! 2Listen to me and make up your minds to honor my name,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “or I will bring a terrible curse against you

Verse 13

You cover the Lord’s altar with tears, weeping and groaning because he pays no attention to your offerings and doesn’t accept them with pleasure. 14You cry out, “Why doesn’t the Lord accept my worship?”

I’ll tell you why! Because the Lord witnessed the vows you and your wife made when you were young. But you have been unfaithful to her, though she remained your faithful partner, the wife of your marriage vows.

15Didn’t the Lord make you one with your wife?

In body and spirit, you are his. And what does he want? Godly children from your union. So, guard your heart; remain loyal to the wife of your youth

1Peter 3:7

“Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should, so your prayers will not be hindered.

5. Let every man have his own wife.

1 Corinthians 7:1-2

Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. 2Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.

Ephesians 5: 23 For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of his body, the church.

Verse 33

“So again, I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.”

 6. True Christians Do the Will of God

Matthew 7:21-23

21 “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter.

22On judgment day, many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ 23But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’

1Peter 2:8

They stumble because they do not obey God’s word, and so they meet the fate that was planned for them

1 Corinthians 7:2

2Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
